Electrical Contracting of a Large Logistics Center Using Design&Build Model
Tekova, a company specializing in the construction of commercial premises, built a new logistics center for 3PLogistiikka Oy in the Bastukärr industrial area of Sipoo.
3PLogistiikka Oy decided to invest in a new logistics center in Bastukärr, Sipoo. The logistics center, located in an excellent area, is substantial in size. The 18,000 m² facilities offer 3PLogistiikka’s customers flexible space as well as a state-of-the-art warehouse management system.
Design & Build
Tekova selected Terawatt as the electrical contractor for the project and chose an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) delivery model. Terawatt was responsible for both the design of the electrical works within the given framework conditions and the execution of the electrical contract. Especially during the early stages of the project, Terawatt’s contribution and service were considered highly valuable by Tekova. This collaboration helped clearly define the project scope for the client, ensuring that all parties were on the same page when the project was launched.
The project had ambitious energy-efficiency targets, and the logistics center achieved a BREEAM Excellent certification. As part of the energy-efficiency measures, a 200 kWp solar power plant was installed on the roof of the logistics center.
The Overall Project Ran Smoothly
Overall, the project progressed smoothly and in close cooperation between all parties involved. Terawatt’s project team received praise for their efficiency and strong collaboration throughout the contract. We, in turn, received valuable constructive feedback on how additional work proposals could be formulated more clearly to ensure better understanding for all stakeholders, and these proposals were further developed during the course of the project. As a result, receiving an NPS score of 10 from the customer in the feedback survey truly put a smile on our faces!
